VILLA GUADALUPE
A PLACE WHERE IDEAS ARE DEVELOPED, PROJECTS ARE BORN
“Su l’etrusche tue mura, erma Volterra,
ondate nella rupe, alle tue porte
senza stridore, io vidi genti morte
della cupa città ch’era sotterra”
Origins
The origins of this ancient mansion date back to the mid-19th century at the behest of the Tangassi family, important artists of the famous Volterra alabaster, who decided to build the villa ” le Guadalupe” over an old farmhouse. They chose an exclusive and magical place, surrounded by a unique and fairy-tale Tuscan landscape. It can certainly be said that the Tangassi family created a place that in perfect harmony with the surrounding nature, is a world of its own.
The patronal villa that rises on two levels encloses within it frescoes and pictorial inventions that with their colors and representations enter into dialogue with the tones and shades of the surrounding nature. One could say a small and original pictorial work within an equally large and striking pictorial work offered by the natural landscape!
In the oldest wing of the structure ( the former farmer’s house) there are also three rooms formerly used for guests of the villa : the Yellow Room, the Strawberry Room and the Alcove Room, all of which are harmoniously furnished and enveloping. The rooms over the years have hosted distinguished people, belonging to the world of culture, arts. In fact since 1982 The new and current owner, a famous German-born playwright, together with his partner herself a writer and playwright, have turned the house into a meeting place, for artists and scientists, for curious, interested, creative and visionary people.
In this stimulating place, discussions are held, ideas are developed, projects are born.
The little church
Adjacent to the main house this structure in 1858 was consecrated to Our Lady of Guadalupe , patroness of Mexico, where the Tangassi family had made their fortune as alabaster travelers. Being consecrated allows the celebration for religious purposes and therefore immediately hints at the potential of the entire structure for those who would like to hold events such as weddings or the like. The entire property, therefore, could take on the connotations of a tourist-accommodation facility, activating the housing potential of the entire property.

About Pisa and Surroundings
The foundation of Pisa has its roots in the period of classical Greece, when some Trojans, fleeing from the tragic defeat against Agamemnon’s troops, took refuge in these fertile and lush lands. Crossed by the Arno River, even in more remote corners it is possible to glimpse reminders of history, art and beauty.
