Living Maremma
Considered one of the pearls of Tuscany, the Maremma area is distinguished by the special charm of its history, the originality of its territories, and the very high level of artisanal products.
Maremma is a unique synthesis of different colors and landscapes: blue sea, medieval villages, Etruscan sites, rolling hills, archaeological parks, mountains by the sea and rows of vineyards.
The history of this land is marked by the close bond between the people and the environment, and the landscape bears witness to this: the olive groves, the vineyards, the plains, the wild scrubland, the “padule,” the chestnut groves, the beech forests, and the sea.
Traveling along it from one end to the other, one will find oneself immersed in an immensely varied and rich landscape: long sunny beaches and sheer cliffs; hills, dotted with small farms and picturesque villages; the volcanic mountain of Amiata; the islands, with sheer cliffs and remains of Roman villas; the Argentario promontory and the natural environment of the Orbetello lagoon; and the Natural Parks.

Absolutely not to be missed is the Jewish Quarter in the heart of the town, evidence of the help Ferdinand I, Grand Duke of Tuscany, gave to fleeing Jews at the time of the racial laws.
